• Integrated Protection System: The CU30R is a single, integrated system that combines a hard hat, face shield, and earmuffs. This design streamlines safety, ensuring all three crucial components are available and work together.
• Hard Hat (Tectra Safety Cap):
  • Construction: Made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with a non-vented shell.
  • Suspension: Features a 6-point ratchet suspension with nylon webbing for a secure and comfortable fit. The ratchet adjustment allows for easy sizing from 6-1/2 to 8.
  • Safety Standards: The hard hat meets ANSI Z89.1 Type I, Class E, G & C requirements, indicating it provides top impact protection and is dielectric (non-conductive) for electrical safety.
  • Dielectric Design: The entire system is 100% dielectric, making it safe for use around electrical hazards.
• Hearing Protection (Earmuffs):
  • Type: QuickSnap™ cap-mounted earmuffs that attach directly to the hard hat.
  • Noise Reduction: The earmuffs have a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 25 dB, which provides effective protection against loud noises while still allowing for the perception of human voices and alarms.
  • Ergonomics: The earmuffs have “flip-out” and “flip-up” positions for short-term breaks or for when hearing protection is not needed.
• Face Protection (Visor):
  • Type: A durable nylon mesh visor (model NV-70) that provides excellent ventilation.
  • Function: The mesh visor is ideal for outdoor applications like forestry, where it protects against flying debris like wood chips and sawdust.
  • Bracket: It includes a tight-fitting visor bracket that rests snugly on the bill of the cap, preventing sawdust from getting inside the hard hat.
  • Note: It’s important to be aware that the nylon mesh visor on the CU30R does not comply with ANSI Z87.1 for high-velocity impact protection. For applications requiring this level of eye safety, the manufacturer recommends wearing safety glasses underneath or opting for a polycarbonate face shield model (e.g., CU-30L)
